Groenvlei (Green marsh), a working Karoo merino sheep farm, is situated in the heart of the Sneeuberg, close to historical Graaff-Reinet and Nieu-Bethesda (famous for its Owl House). We welcome you to real peace and tranquillity. At Groenvelei one can unwind and enjoy a safe, carefree farm getaway for the whole family

Accommodation (self-catering or catered) is offered in either a 1, 2 or 4 bedroomed cottage that you have entirely to yourself. Your unit is fully serviced daily to enable you to take a real break! Wood and braaiing facilities are available, as well as electric blankets and fireplaces in each cottage for winter when snowfalls are possible...

No stay at Groenvlei is complete without experiencing our very popular traditional farm cuisine; menus and meal times will gladly be adapted to suit your preferences. A typical menu would include roast leg of lamb, venison pie, roast potatoes, fresh veggies from the garden, salad and milk tart.

Enjoy hiking, horse-riding, cycling, tennis, swimming, birding (210 species), winter log fires or just relax and enjoy the tranquility, while the children explore their safe surroundings.
