The Wild Coast may be South Africa's most spectacular & yet least touristy region with it's rocky coastline, indigenous forests, secluded coves and many river mouths. And all this is on your doorstep at Umngazi, a lively family where the only time you will spend indoors will be to eat and sleep.

The relaxed informal lodge is on the banks of the Umngazi Estuary so one can choose between swimming in the pool, the river or the sea, fishing off the boat or rocks, and walking in the forests. Bird-watching cruises are also organized for sunset. Ferries transport guests over to the beach from the river jetty.

Meanwhile, back at home you will be missing out on the tennis, gym & spa with a 180 degree view of the Indian Ocean. The spa offers various treatments including Umngazi's rejuvenating signature treatment.

Children are well catered for with activities ranging from dune surfing, mullet cruises, arts & crafts at the creative corner and slippery slide. Facilities for children include the TV lounge, play area with a trampoline, nanny service and swimming pool with paddling area for toddlers.

The accommodation options vary from sea, garden or river front thatched bungalows. Weekly fly-in packages are available Friday to Friday from Durban where you fly at 500 feet above sea level along the beautiful coastline - a wonderful experience to start your holiday.
