![]() Dungbeetle River Lodge is uniquely situated on the banks of the beautiful Sundays River, near the mouth where it flows into Algoa Bay. The front deck has stunning views of the river and the dunes.
The lodge is ideally situated as an overnight stop or as a destination for a break-away. We are only 4 km away from the new Addo Elephant Park Southern gate, off the N2. 0ver 7 internationally known game farms and alternative nature destinations are between 10 and 35 minutes drive from the Lodge. Port Elizabeth is 38km away.
The communal lounge offers various board games, a small library and D.S.T.V. Bar facilities.
ACCOMMODATION:
Dungbeetle River Lodge has 6 up-market large, safari type bedrooms, with old world furnishings and subtly decorated to give you a classy colonial African feel.
Each suite with its unique big five animal name comes with television, honesty fridge, 3speed ceiling fan, safe and a choice of single or double bed. Large corner baths provide bath/shower facilities. The "Fish Eagle" or honeymoon suite includes a four poster and an open plan bathroom, separate toilet and walk in wardrobe, with a splendid view from the balcony.

Fish Eagle Suite : Superior 180 deg. River view, 4 poster bedroom suite
Lion suite : 2 separated single beds. (Twin)
Elephant Suite : 2 x 3/4 beds together, either as singles or large double.
Rhino Suite : 2 x single beds together, either as singles or large double.
Buffalo Suite : 2 separated single beds. Can cater for physically disadvantaged. Room with outside ramp.
DINING:
Traditional English breakfast/continental or room service. The home baked breads and muffins with traditional South African jams, fruit juices etc. are a complete the feast. Or have us pack a picnic basket for your canoe trip, hike etc. Supper is optional, and a small village "Pub and Grub" within walking distance provide excellent food, and allows you to meet with the locals.
